Every StarCraft story has been heading here. StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void puts you in command of the Protoss for the concluding chapter of Blizzard Entertainment's real-time strategy trilogy. Hierarch Artanis leads the Golden Armada home to reclaim Aiur and unite the three races against an ancient evil that threatens all life in the galaxy. It is a standalone release, so you can start here without owning any other part of StarCraft II.

A Protoss Campaign Worth the Wait

Years after the zerg Swarm overran their home world, the Protoss are finally ready to strike back. A Zeratul prologue sets the stage, then Artanis launches the long-awaited return to Aiur, and the campaign quickly turns into something far larger when Amon, the fallen Xel'Naga who has been pulling strings across the whole trilogy, makes his move. From there the story draws in the Khalai, the Nerazim and the zealous Tal'darim, each with its own history and its own reasons to distrust the others. It also closes out the arcs of Artanis, Zeratul, Raynor and Kerrigan that began in Wings of Liberty.

Your Arkship, Your Army

The Spear of Adun Your base of operations is an ancient Protoss arkship. Between missions you move through its decks, talk with your advisors and pour recovered Solarite into powers you can call down from orbit mid-battle, which gives each mission a layer of strategy on top of your army. Tribal Unit Choices Unit slots come in variants drawn from the Khalai, the Nerazim, the Tal'darim and the Purifiers, so the familiar Zealot slot can field a Nerazim Centurion or a Purifier Sentinel instead. Mixing and matching lets you shape the Protoss army around the way you like to fight.

Multiplayer Built for Faster, Sharper Play

Legacy of the Void reshaped competitive StarCraft, adding fresh units for every race, from the Protoss Adept and Disruptor to the Terran Liberator and the Zerg Ravager, along with new ways to play together.

  • Faster openings. Matches begin with a larger worker line and resource fields that run dry sooner, so you are expanding, scouting and fighting within minutes instead of waiting for the game to get going.
  • Archon Mode. Two players share control of a single base and army and split the macro and micro duties between them. It is a great way to learn alongside a friend, or to coordinate at a level no single player can manage.
  • The ranked ladder. Leagues for players of every skill level, with matchmaking that pairs you with opponents near your level, from your first placement matches all the way up to Grandmaster.

Co-Op Commanders and Weekly Mutators

Not every battle has to be against another player. In Co-Op Commander mode you team up with another player online and take the role of a StarCraft leader, whether that is Raynor, Kerrigan, Artanis, Swann, Zagara, Vorazun or Karax. Each commander has a distinct army, abilities and upgrades that grow as you level them up. Weekly Mutators twist a co-op scenario with new rules every week, and the Arcade's thousands of player-made maps and mods mean there is always something odd, clever or completely unexpected to try.

The Last Word on a Legend

Legacy of the Void is where nearly two decades of StarCraft storytelling lands, and where Blizzard's real-time strategy design reached its most refined form. Whether you are here to see Artanis bring the Protoss home, to finally take on the ladder, or to spend your evenings in co-op with a friend, the Golden Armada is waiting for its Hierarch. En Taro Adun.
